After hearing a lot about the Ziggy Switkowski report this week, I decided I’d better have myself a peek to enable myself to form an opinion. I got as far as sentence one:

On June 6, the Prime Minister announced the appointment of a taskforce to undertake an objective, scientific and comprehensive review into the uranium mining, value-added processing and the contribution of nuclear energy in Australia in the longer term.

Now, as far as I’m concerned, if Mr Howard commissioned the report, then it must contain the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Otherwise, he would blast the authors back to the stone age, right?

Now a whole lot of lefties were calling up Virginia Trioli this morning, complaining about Ziggy ignoring renewables. Well, my small-brained imbeciles, if Mr Howard had wanted a report on that sissy solar crap, he would have asked for a report into sissy solar crap. The fact is, we need a solution that is going to power the country at night as well as during the day.

What we need in this country is for the state governments to be put back into their place. The ever-repugnant Morris Iemma likes to butt in with his high and mighty “I’ve got a national framework for greenhouse trading ready to go” malarky, but if he really wants to help, he should drop his opposition to Mr Howard’s nuclear plans. Also, Mr Iemma should volunteer the NSW Parliament to store all our nuclear waste, as well as the nuclear waste from any other countries who feel like sending it to us. I’m sick of these pesky Labor premiers spoiling John’s day.

Nuclear power is the way of the future. Dinosaurs like Iemma & Co. will be left behind, along with their pathetic little wind farms, as the rest of the world moves on.

I say that the Howard Government should seize control of the states and disband them (much like the NSW Labor government did to the inner-city local councils). With John as our supreme leader we can move Australia forward, build nuclear power plants from coast to coast, and with a bit of luck abolish elections entirely so that we can live under John’s glorious reign forever!
